The ‘La Bastide’ is a charming residence in the heart of Bonnieux, a traditional hilltop village located in Provence’s beautiful Luberon region. Built in the 17th century, the structure was originally the village ‘Gendarmerie’ housing the area’s local gendarmes.

This lovely two-bedroom apartment is situated on the second floor of a traditional Provencal building. The apartment has an inviting open-floor-plan with a private balcony offering panoramic views of the Luberon across the valley to the village of Lacoste. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances and ample cookware, dishware and glassware. The Master bedroom has a Queen-size bed. The 2nd bedroom has a King size bed that can be separated and made-up into 2 twin beds in advance if so desired. The apartment has a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large vanity with double wash basins. The toilet is in a separate WC.

The ‘La Bastide’ structure consists of 7 handsome apartments on 3 floors; including 1, 2 and 3 bedroom residences. The residences are spacious and light-filled, enjoying an enchanting view over the rooftops of Bonnieux towards the village of Lacoste. Each apartment has its own private loggia (terrasse) with outdoor furniture, allowing you to enjoy the pleasure of natural Provence. Traditional materials such as Provence tiles, stone and plaster are artfully used in construction design, and combined with the earthy colors of the décor create a pleasing and restful ambience. Superior quality furnishings, linens, and dishware complete the serene interior design. All 7 apartments have TVs, DVD players and WiFi and access to the swimming pool and outdoor furniture.

This building is situated in the centre of Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful “Perched Villages” in the Luberon region. Built on a plateau above the valley, Bonnieux is one of the finest villages in the area. The houses spread out on the hill-side form a striking harmony of earth-toned colors and shapes. Some superb residences dating back to the 16th, 17th, and 18th century serve as a reminder that Bonnieux was a wealthy village when this region, the Comtat Venaissin, belonged to the Popes. Several bishops also chose to live here and as you wander through the village streets you will no doubt marvel at the architecture and history on display. No matter what route you take to Bonnieux, you will see the church tower well before you arrive. At a height of 425m, the tower dominates the countryside and the surroundings of this magnificent village, situated in the Luberon region. This is the ideal location from which to discover this lovely region of Provencal France!
