This is a Non-Smoking Apartment.
Utterly useless, infinitely potent, the Eiffel Tower reflects humanity’s purest aspirations, a stairway to the sky with no purpose than allowing a person to climb up and have a look around. That’s Judith Dupré on the Eiffel Tower, in her book, “Skyscrapers.” A mere 60 feet shorter than the Chrysler Building, and completed a staggering 41 years earlier, isn’t it time you took another look at this 8th Wonder of the World?
And to take it all in, where better to stay than your stylish Parisian pad, a short walk from le Tour Eiffel, in the 7th arrondisement. You’re able to walk there, and to Les Invalides, and to the Seine, and then to Musée d’Orsay. You can find the Metro very nearby to take you to any and all the other spots you want to take in. You’re right at the pulse of things.
And while you’re there, don’t forget to take Hemingway at his word: If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a movable feast. Around the corner from your flat is the wonderful Rue Cler Market, known to gastronomes the world over as the Disneyland of French specialty foods. Buy some pain grillé and a couple of Pissaladières, stop at the fromagerie, a few cold cuts from Davoli, a bottle of vin rouge, maybe some Orangina for the kids… and head back to your pied à terre and enjoy it on the balcony of this fabulous apartment.
The Apartment
You enter your ultramodern building on rue St. Dominique and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Opening your apartment door, you see sunshine and parquet floors in a chic, quiet neo-Parisian setting. The apartment has nice views of the Garden accross the street and the buildings on rue St Dominique. The entryway gives onto the large salon, which has a table at one end and a couch and seating area at the other. All is light and airy -- sliding glass doors beckon you out to the balcony.
The hip kitchen peeks through the living area, all decked out in fire engine red and the latest appliances. A perfect place to prepare those delicacies from the Rue Cler marché.
Two spacious bedrooms, one for you, one for the princesses, await you beyond the salon. The princesses have twin beds and polka dots. You have a capacious queen and luxury bed linens for your much needed, post-sightseeing rest. Off the bedrooms, the bath is très moderne also, sleek in black and white with shower and separate toilet enclosure.
You’ll rest in modern elegance here during your long-planned Paris visit… and you’ll love the location.
