The Apartment
Entering the building from the narrow, winding street, your experience will have already begun.
As you exit the elevator and open the door, your perfect hideaway will not disappoint.
The entryway is spacious and provides access to the kitchen, the main room and the bathroom as well as the toilet.
Entering into the main room, one of the first things you're likely to notice is the view of the Pantheon, towering overhead to the south. This room is set with a futon along the back wall facing the window as well as the flat screen television. In the middle space there is a table with seating for four which can function comfortably as either a dinner table or a desk. The futon breakdown to make a double bed. And conveniently, there is a room divider hidden in a slot in the wall. When your party is greater than two, you can pull this divider across the room in a matter of moments, creating a second private sleeping area.
On the other side of the main room you'll find the bedroom. With a comfortable double bed and ample closet and dresser space, the bedroom is all that you could ever need. It too has a view out onto the Pantheon from the shuttered three quarter length windows. And the room faces onto a courtyard, ensuring a quiet and uninterrupted sleep.
The kitchen is back through the main room, off of the entryway. Here, you'll find a stove top, a microwave oven and all of the table settings you'll need. It's a modest but bright and well equipped space, capable of delicious culinary use.
The bathroom, also off the entryway, has ample room for comfort. There is a toilet, shower/bathtub and a sink. And with new features and warm tones, it is as comfortable as the rest of the apartment.
Across from the bathroom, for added convenience, there is a 'water closet' consisting of a toilet and a sink. No line-ups for the bathroom at this apartment!
Hang your hat and stay a while at the rue des Fosses St Jacques apartment.

The District
The Latin Quarter is one of Paris' most loved neighborhoods. With the Sorbonne and the stately Pantheon, the glorious Jardin du Luxembourg, and the lively market street of Rue Mouffetard, there is no end to fun and entertainment in this quarter. On Mouffetard, you will find fishmongers, butchers, delicatessen, fresh vegetables, fruit stands, bakeries with piping hot croissants, breads, baguettes, as well as numerous cafés and restaurants.
Just to the north east of the Latin Quarter is the Jardin des Plantes, a large park with the fantastic Paris Natural History Museum. Beyond this is the Seine river and slightly further away, Cathédrale Notre Dame.
As you can see from the map there are numerous metro/subway stations nearby.
The famed Pantheon, where very well-known and illustrious Frenchmen are buried, such as Voltaire, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, André Malraux and Alexandre Dumas is located just a few minutes walk to the right from the apartment's front door.
In the other direction from the front door - to the left - is the famously beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg which is home to the French Senate. The park also has a wonderful playground for youngsters and an extraordinary running path of 2km in length. There's also a large fountain and pond where the old and young play with miniature boats, and relax on benches and chairs enjoying the park's wonderful, quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
The area around the apartment is one of the most diverse in the city, offering a touch of exclusivity, a hint of student life, 2 world class gardens and close access to the Seine. It's one of the most exciting areas in Paris.
