At the end of August it hosts Europe's biggest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival. The area provides an almost endless choice of cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops of all types, from small neighbourhood stores to designer boutiques and trendy galleries to major shopping outlets. The green spaces of Hyde Park are not too far away and there are many travel options for reaching other parts of the city.
